The construction of the new Colgate Elementary School was completed in two separate phases. Due to the small site, the first phase was the demolition of the existing school and grading of the site. The second phase was the construction of the new school which had many unique features including the building exterior which is a mixture of brick, metal siding, and terracotta plank. The school is located in an urban area in Dundalk and Oak prioritized communication with the community to coordinate construction activities with daily neighborhood traffic on the tight roads around the school property.
